Update on our lives.

Well I guess I will update everyone on our lives and what's going on.

I have changed jobs and am now an Audi Technician at Crown Audi in Clearwater. I've been there about a month and absolutely love it. The cars are amazing and the people and environment are great and motivating which is a welcome change having endured the last year at Brandon VW. Excellent start to a new year.

Kelly is still Waiting at Bern's Steak House and is doing well. If you plan on dining there be sure to request her when you make your reservations in advance.

Her sister Kristen just got married at their parent's amazing new home here in Brooksville, and she made the cake for the event, as well as was the Matron of Honor. Kelly is amazing and takes on way too much, but always manages to knock 'em out of the park.

Bailey is doing very well in the 3rd grade and just finished his first Science project which he got an "A" on!! We are so very proud of him.

Tyler and Emmy are cute as can be and have never met a stranger in the store so I end up meeting everybody when I take them somewhere. All three of them love Spongebob, Penguins of Madagascar, Fanboy and Chumchum, Ni Hao Kai Lan, Dora, Diego, Little Einstiens, and all the current Disney icons.(you know them, I'm sure) Watching them experience life is the most amazing thing for me.

Kelly and I are living life in an unconventional way these days. "Passing ships in the night", is pretty much it. We work opposite shifts, me days, her nights. She's gone when I get of work, I'm asleep when she gets home, she's asleep when I get up to leave. Short phone calls, notes, and a few hours on days off are our together times. it's rough but we each have amazing relationships with the kids as she has them for morning stuff and lunch and I have them for evenings... dinner/bedtime/baths and such. We both work all the chores and house duties and it either piles up or gets done but we both are responsible so no one can blame the other.

I guess we are sowing the seeds and will reap the rewards of our sacrifices.

I have gotten into the mindset that I can and should fix and recycle whatever I can, to save and reduce expenses in this economy. I got a 48" HD widescreen rear projection TV from an abandoned forclosure home and found all it needed was cleaning, and a new mirror inside for the projection unit. So I took the whole thing apart, got mirror dimensions, cleaned it and got a new glass from a local glass company, "Holiga Glass" on US41 in Lutz. Beautiful, clear, smooth mirror. I reassembled it and BAM! We have a like new HD tv. Can't beat that. cost 21 dollars for a 1000 dollar TV. (I looked it up online, in 2004 it was a grand.) My brothers Sony Vaio laptop crapped out on him so I took it and disassembled it, cleaned out what looked like a decade of dust and reformatted the HDD and installed a new O.S. and BAM! "Like new" laptop.

Bottom line, unless it's physically busted up... it's gonna get the once over by me.

Anyway that's the news for now...

Audi update.

Well the Engine/Trans assy is just about out. I would have had it done, but the temperature here dropped to about 16-30 degrees for about 3 weeks during the evenings and at night. So I abandoned the whole deal until it gets warmer. My garage is not heated since I'm in Florida so it's just not gonna happen at these temps. Anyway here's a few pics of where I've paused.

I finally decided on a wheel for the project as well. It is a factory Audi wheel that comes on the new S5 coupe. It is 19x8 and has 235/40/19 Continentals. I probably will ditch the Conti's in favor of some Yoko AVS Intermediates or Falcon Azenis 619's. What do you think?

A whole new year!

Well it's been a while since I posted here so here's a lot of updates.

It has been frigid here (for Florida) at 21 degrees overnight and highs in the 50's with the occasional 60ish.  It is supposed to "flurry" here over the weekend, but It'll flurry in Hell too if it does.

Christmas was good and kids are loaded with toys for our chaotic torture. Tyler got an automatic "tommy" style Nerf machine gun, Emmy got her first Barbie doll (from Santa) and a new Snow White dress (authentic Disney). Bailey got a Lego Star Wars set he's been working on for days now. He is ecstatic!!

Kristen (Kelly's sister) got married last night on her parents property in their new house last night and it was a great time had by all. Lots of hitches leading up to it but I guess that's true of all weddings it seems. It all came together so you'd never know of any problems. Kudos to the people behind the scenes of course!! Derek built the house and altar/platform, Georgeanne made all the food (incredibly good), Kelly made the cake (an event and masterpiece in and of itself, deserving a separate post), Kelly's friend Andy was the photog and He's amazing. Can't wait for all the pics. She and Larry are off to Japan and Tahiti for some Honey!! Have fun.

I've hit the Audi project full force!! More pics soon. I'm may be going in a different direction as I have a possible venture in the works which will affect the project in a HUGE  way.

Oh! and I got a new job!!! I'm no longer with VW and am now a Technician at Crown Audi in Clearwater. I've been there just under 2 months, and it is great. I couldn't be happier. Better products, more work, and MORE MONEY!! plus a future that doesn't exist at VW dealers in the area.

Ok, that's it for now. I'll keep it coming on a more frequent basis now, I hope.

Audi project Update

These are the 3 different choices I'm looking at for the new wheels going on the car. Whichever one gets chosen will be 18x8 front and 18x10 rear. The car is obviously a Quattro so the tires are still "to be determined" to maintain constant overall diameter and not interfere with the upgraded suspension. But a staggered layout will look amazing as well as give unreal handling and stability in a track atmosphere.

Audi project Update

Well the Audi's coming apart now. It's actually farther along now than this shows. It's also not in the location pictured, anymore either. I've moved it to the house in B-ville. I've got it down to the engine and T-belt exposed. (T-belt is Timing belt for those not familiar with car lingo)
The headlamps are gone and core support is off and all are being refinished and repaired/parts replaced. The engine and trans are coming out next. Lots of pics of that. I'm going to be installing a number of performance upgrades at that time.

Upgrades:
PES Supercharger System (includes Software, Injection upgrade, Full engine harness, Pulley system, and related)
Leistritz Stainless Headers and full 3" Cat-delete exhaust system
Level 10 performance "The Animal" Trans install (this is a post all by itself)
Electric fan conversion
HID Bi-Xenon conversion
French yellow HID Fog lamp conversion

The suspension and sub-frame assy's all come off with the eng/trans since it is being done on the ground. So the suspension will be upgraded and repaired to new spec at that time as well.
More pics to come.

Still sick.

Well, I am officially tired of being sick. Seriously irritating. No fever at all so can't be flu or at least the swine kind. Whew! Kelly an Tyler must have serious immune systems, as they are totally unaffected. Loaded on meds, but only subdues the symptoms...ugh.

It's a good thing Kelly has such a fetish for Disney movies (we have them all), as Tyler and Emmy have discovered them and we are watching them in succession. So far they watched Little Mermaid, Cars, Toy Story 1, all in one afternoon. Now we are on Monsters Inc. and we'll see what's next.

I know, I know. Too much TV. Well, It's soaking wet outside, and is raining all day, so TV entertainment it is. They have their toys all over and I guess we'll take naps here in a little while.
It's like the little crab from Mermaid says, "Hmmph, Kids. You give them an inch, and they swim all over." (in Jamaican voice)

Plus, unless they are bleeding or dying, I'm too sick to really care much. Is that bad???
They are happy and fed, so as long as they don't fight, I'm cool.

Well I'm gonna go lay out on the "sick couch" and watch Monsters. Have a good one.

Ugh. Sick as a dog. With non-pig flu. (hopefully)

Well today is #2 in the "sick at home" status. I tried to go to work to "make the effort" but boss-man said "Get out of here and stay away from me!" So I'm at home again. What sucks is, I work in Brandon which is 50 miles 1 way so, 1/4 tank of gas spent in Cabrio. Oh well.

I stopped by the store for much needed meds and other groceries and so it'll be an easy 4 day weekend on the couch or in the bed. Kelly and Ty need to stay away from me. Emmy is already sick too, so we can hang out together and get well.

Maybe I'll see what I can do with this site today.

This is a project I am getting ready to start on. It started as Kelly's Audi A6 Avant Quattro. The transmission gave up 2.5 yrs ago and it has been sitting ever since in my garage. She no longer drives it and I want to... so I am going to re-do it as I do all the cars I drive. I will post as it goes.

My first post!!

Hey this is Brian! I've finally decided to get into blogging... hehe. I go by zymol75 on many forums and other sites. Kelly sometimes goes by vwchk.

This is going to be about our life, family and friends, and related stuff.
Kelly will be posting here too. We have 3 kids and live in Brooksville Florida. We both grew up in Tampa.

I am a "car nut" and work for VW as a Technician. I am ASE Master Certified and VW Certified 2002-2010. My first car I built was a 72 Mustang Mach 1 but I have had VW's ever since. The funny thing is, I still have every car I have ever driven except 1, my first vdub, an 86 16V Scirocco. Kelly says I can take any conversation and turn it around to reflect cars in some way. hmmm. Maybe I AM psycho.

Kelly is an artist and somewhat of a scientist. She is my best friend and Love of my life!! She can post about herself in more details as she sees fit. I'll continue about me.

I can be somewhat abrasive and dead-set in my views but am generally easygoing and try to see all sides of an argument even if my opinion is unswayed. I am Christian, Conservative, Pro-Family, Pro-guns, Pro-Marriage as 1 man 1 woman, and other currently unpopular "titles" in today's atmosphere. Enough of that.

I love my kids and am totally awed by them and the things they do. They are my most important assignment in life. I probably will talk about them often.

I am almost positive I will post something Kelly will feel I shouldn't have, so you may read something posted one day, that is gone the next. I will have to update the "Discretion Meter software" in my head for sure if I am going to continue this.

I will try to post updates daily or close to it on our lives for those interested or curious. I am sure I will post on current events too. Kelly may or may not post as much or often. That's up to her. I am into Volkswagen and Audi products immensely and will probably talk about car stuff often. I will try to keep it un-boring, but sometimes the details of my rants are funny. I am no comedian by any means but I CAN be funny sometimes. My youngest brother is really funny through a dry wit that I did not inherit. Too bad.

Ok, on with the countdown...
